Particle Astrophysics

The Particle Astrophysics group at LSU seeks to fill one or more openings for a Postdoctoral Researcher or Senior Postdoctoral Researcher beginning as early as June 2009. The successful candidate will work with the cosmic ray group on the Pierre Auger Observatory Project. Our group’s activities include: data analysis, monte-carlo simulations of extensive air showers and detector response, design and implementation of calibration hardware for fluorescence telescopes, and development of the analysis software packages using local Linux machines. Salary and level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Both Levels - Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or a related field. (Senior Postdoc) three years postdoctoral experience. Experience relevant to one or more of the above areas is desirable. Some international travel is required.
