"MINERvA: Precision measurement of neutrino scattering at Fermilab"

Robert Bradford
North Carolina State University

With the discovery of neutrino oscillations and the advent of particle-astrophysics, neutrinos have become one of nature's most sought-after particles! Yet, efforts to use neutrinos as a probe of physics are often limited by our poor understanding of the basic neutrino-nucleus interaction. MINERvA is a new experiment, currently under construction at Fermilab, which will produce high precision measurements of key neutrino interaction cross sections. This talk will present an overview of neutrino interaction physics and discuss the MINERvA experiment.
