RESEARCH INTERESTS

While at LSU, Dr. Williams served in various capacities, as Professor of Nuclear Engineering, Director of the Nuclear Science Center, Director of the Medical Physics Program, and Professor of Physics and Astonomy. Since 2003 he is at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as Distinguished Staff Member of the Nuclear Science and Technology Division and has since been involved in a variety of research and analysis activities, including ongoing development of the CENTRM continuous energy SN code in the SCALE system, as well as new sensitivity analysis methods for reactor physics and shielding.. His areas of expertise and interest include developing radiation transport methods for lattice physics, criticality safety, shielding, and medical applications, as well as nuclide transmutation solutions, nuclear data processing/testing, sensitivity and uncertainty techniques, and reactor pressure vessel fluence analysis. Dr. Williams is an active member of the American Nuclear Society and American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
